WELCOME
These pages will show Family Trees, and
Descendant Charts of the main names occurring in both mine and my wife's
Family History together with links to Profiles of some individuals.
Many names have been researched and some of the pages are
being continually enhanced by contributions from other related researchers who
find this site. Excellent examples are the ISONs pages where over 20
contributors have helped form a Tree (divided due to size) of over 400
persons.
On later pages there is a searchable Index of all
names discovered in my research, including some witnesses etc together with
details of where they fit into our history. There are also a few links to
descriptions of the places and circumstances in which they lived.
The site is in main 2 parts: 1st
my wife's and my families whilst the 2nd part is devoted to further Cakebread
name research in the Midlands area of the UK.
Within the 1st part it is laid
out according to whose family (mine or my wife's) is being researched but
hopefully navigation will be easy. If in trouble go to the 'top' of the page
and hit the 'Names' or 'Descendant Charts' links.
First time
visitors may wish to read the suggestions on the 'Help' page .
Throughout, most of our ancestors have been from the
working classes, consisting of Agricultural labourers, tailors, weavers,
miners, blacksmiths, joiners, wheelwrights, bleachers and in later years
engineers etc.
Most lines of our combined family have been traced back to
about 1800, though some go back further. Unfortunately I can find no substance
for a claim to any title, land or pot of gold !
CAKEBREADs
Recently I have been expanding my CAKEBREAD pages to
include information over a larger geographical area than my own family covered
in an attempt to find any common links. There are charts of Cakebread families
in Birmingham; Northamptonshire; Solihull; Sibford; and even California plus a
list of IGI entries for England.
Research is still
continuing and these pages will be updated. |
